You’ve probably learned by now that marketing has a HUGE impact on the success and longevity of a business.

It’s important to remember that the world of marketing is always evolving, so staying up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices is extremely important.

Let’s start with the basics… OUT with the OLD, IN with the NEW. startup-photos-1

In the past, marketing was a pure numbers game with almost zero logic or rationale behind it’s practice. The more you “pushed” your message or service, the more profit you would see. Sounds easy enough, right?

If you’re like me, you’re a visual learner - so let’s paint a picture of the old marketing methodology to help you gain a clearer picture.

You can imagine this scenario as a business owner throwing their fishing net out as far as they could afford - the more fish they would capture (leads) the better they felt about gaining traction for their business. However, what this method doesn’t account for is the quality of these leads.

Rather than “pushing” out generic content to your audience we should be focused on “pulling” in these leads with quality bait. This acts as a natural filter for your lead base providing you with suitable catches who find your content relevant and valuable.

We are no longer “hunting” for our leads, instead we want to “farm” for our leads.

Focus on providing your audience with engaging content, or in other words plant a quality seed, that will allow them to grow into a customer when they are ready.

This will ensure that your customer is suitable for your services and is willing to commit to a plan of action.

Another major change in the marketing world is the use of analytics. No longer do you have to be a “data-head” to capture or understand your analytics. With so many platforms and easy-to-use apps, gathering data is easier than ever.

Using analytics will help you determine which content pieces are resonating with your audience as well as aid in the development process of future marketing efforts.

Stay up-to-date on these latest trends and watch your lead base grow with QUALITY contacts!
